Baby Belle

This is a sweet skirt pin adorned with 3 little charms. The round charm holds one of my favorite vintage baby photos and the small 1 inch charm is that of the word Belle printed onto vintage book paper, and it holds a little soldered ivory button too. You can remove the charms to wear as pendants or hang as charms from ribbons. I really love this baby picture and used it again in this larger square charm, the photo is a stamp size and I used a background of olive and gold end paper from a book. These two sweets are for sale in the shop. It is quite windy here today, we went to a few bazaar sales this morning, I was on the hunt for vintage textiles and books of course!

Pretty little things

Here is my little creation I have made using some mother of pearl buttons, I like the way this charm turned out so I made one to keep for myself. The weather is finally feeling more like spring here, my bulbs are starting to peek up and we are getting our April showers....we have our first thunderstorm of the season so far was nice to hear those rumbling sounds again, rain is very hypnotic. Have a lovely day.

French Fairy Girl

A very pretty little image of a vintage french girl adorned with silver fairy wings and crown. The large charm is 2 by 2 inches and features a beautiful rose on the backside. Hung from a pussy willow branch and wired with crystals and buttons, the little charms has the word Fairy typed onto old papers. Hang this little fairy dangle where ever you want a little magic. I was so inspired to make fairy art after reading the latest Romantic Homes article of The Magpie and the Wardrobe featuring Sam McKechnie's dolls, they are so pretty and magical. I listed this little dangle in the shop today.

Charms of Spring

In the next few posts I will share with you some different way to decorate using little glass charms. I have mine all around the house tied to stacks of books, hanging from candles, and lamps, like little framed artworks in-cased in glass. I have been cutting and printing up some new designs for charms, this collection will be of Little French Fairy Girls, Flowers and Botanicals, with pretty papers touches of silver fairy glitter and scripted words for each one. I have listed my Summer Fairy Paper Garland in my shop, this is one of my favorite paper pieces, I have one in my daughters room over her bed so she can dream of fairies at night.

Books of Birds

When I need a little inspiration I like to move things around a bit in my studio. This is a small selection of my vintage birding books, one of my favourites English Fairytales Book (flea market find) The Naturalist Audubon, Bird Life with wonderful pictures throughout this book. I have a few little bottles that contain some feathers they look so pretty in the light. I use images from these books of mine to create the art I do, so I like to change them around from time to time. Well off to finish my tea then to the post office.
